Circe – Experimental Platform for Dance and Theatre online workshops:

Hung Dance Body Language Technique

Description:

The workshop demonstrates Hung Dance’s movement language techniques, focusing on the dynamic and stationary space around the body. Setting out from a single point of movement, joints and muscles on the body are deconstructed, where only an individual part is allowed to move at a time while the rest of the body remains stationary. Furthermore, the round and twirling elements of Taiji become the forces gradually moving other muscles and joints on the body. This technique can be applied to any part of the body to create unique movement logic and mechanical body language that is both dynamic and stationary at the same time.

* Taiji is a Chinese cosmological term for the “Supreme Ultimate” state of undifferentiated absolute and infinite potential, the oneness before duality, from which Yin and Yang originate, can be compared with the old Wuji
